  5. When it comes to travel accommodation (but leaving out crashing with friends, family or people you meet on the road), how often do you stay in hostels?
    This was my first time hosteling

    Europe

  7. Would you stay in a hostel again on future trips?
    Yes

  8. Why or why not?
    It's cheap, clean and a great way to meet people.

  9. Out of all your experiences hosteling, what was your:
    • Best Moment
      Meeting a ton of cool Australians in Switzerland.

    • Worst Moment
      Not having a towel for 4 days in Switzerland so I didn't shower.

    • Biggest Hurdle, Obstacle or Difficulty?
      Going by myself to Dublin.

    • Biggest surprise?
      How clean some hostels are and how dirty others are.

  10. Do you ever book any of your hostel accommodation in advance?
    Sometimes

  11. Why or why not?
    When traveling for an extended period of time to numerous countries, it's hard to plan exactly where you will be at any given moment.

  12. Who is the most memorable person you met in a hostel and why?
    Bernie the bartender at the Funny Farm in Interlaken, Switzerland. He told me that Guinness tasted like a pork chop and it was a meal in a glass.

  13. Why do you stay in hostels, as opposed to other types of accommodation?
    It's the best quality for the price, and you meet some of the craziest and most interesting people.

  14. Is there a hostel you'd recommend to other travelers? If so, what is it and where?
    Funny Farm, Interlauken, Switzerland

  15. What is the biggest myth people have about hostels and hosteling?
    That they are scary and dangerous to be at alone.

  16. Why do you like to travel?
    It's really beneficial to learn more about other countries and other people. It's fun and interesting. AND it makes other people jealous. haha

  17. What is your advice for other travelers wanting to stay in hostels?
    Go for it! It's one of the best things you could do! But DON'T FORGET a towel! And find out about hostels from other travelers you meet along the road, they know the best and worst places to stay.
