  5. When it comes to travel accommodation (but leaving out crashing with friends, family or people you meet on the road), how often do you stay in hostels?
    This was my first time hosteling

    Europe

  7. Would you stay in a hostel again on future trips?
    Yes

  8. Why or why not?
    Had a very good experience with the hostels I travelled to, don't feel that I need to spend another €50 just for the sake of being in a hotel, when the hostel has all the facilities you need.

  9. Out of all your experiences hosteling, what was your:
    • Best Moment
      Being extremely drunk in Florence hostel room

    • Worst Moment
      Getting up to move hostels the next morning

    • Biggest Hurdle, Obstacle or Difficulty?
      Keeping quiet while drunk

    • Biggest surprise?
      How comfortable the experience was

  10. Do you ever book any of your hostel accommodation in advance?
    Sometimes

  11. Why or why not?
    Not having to worry about finding somewhere to stay when arriving in an unknown city at 2.30am.

  12. Who is the most memorable person you met in a hostel and why?
    Very good-looking Israeli (we think) woman whom we met in a Roman hostel.

  13. Why do you stay in hostels, as opposed to other types of accommodation?
    Because they are the cheapest option and they provide the opportunity to meet like-minded people.

  14. Is there a hostel you'd recommend to other travelers? If so, what is it and where?
    Hostel Charlie Brown, Rome, Italy

  15. What is the biggest myth people have about hostels and hosteling?
    Bad hygiene and communal showers, safety issues.

  16. Why do you like to travel?
    To experience different cultures, to expand my knowledge and mind, to meet new people.

  17. What is your advice for other travelers wanting to stay in hostels?
    Book and email in advance, buy drink in off-licences and bring it back to your room and enjoy yourself... but be quiet!
