It's a nice way of meeting people from all over the world with the special backpacker-way of thinking (back to nature, preserve the environment, it's nice to meet people, that are different)

To be sure there's room for us (we are a married couple and prefer to sleep together.

It must have been the young man from Germany, who knew so many folk-songs back in 1967.
- Why do you stay in hostels, as opposed to other types of accommodation?
The are cheaper, it's easier to get into contact with the hippie-like-kind of people.

To broaden my horizon.
- What is your advice for other travelers wanting to stay in hostels?
Just do it, but read about the places first. Enjoy the possibilities to visit interesting towns, museums, nature and to dive down in the history of the places.
