Hostels Guide with BootsnAll

From the minute you enter the gate at Wind Chimes Inn you’ll realize you’ve stumbled upon something special. The discreet walled garden inset with Mexican ojos del buey gives way to a lovingly restored Spanish villa dating back to the roaring 20s. Of course much has changed on the Condado strip since then, but we pride ourselves on creating an oasis from city life, giving our guests the best of both worlds.

What has remained of that era is an atmosphere of casual elegance and a relaxing environment for business or pleasure. The entrance hall is decorated with local works of art (as are all the individually decorated bedrooms) leading off onto interconnecting patios shaded by bougainvilleas and palms. Balconies and walkways lead to hidden corners for reading, terracotta tiled sun decks and a covered terrace where fresh brewed Puerto Rican coffee and a continental breakfast is served each morning to the jingle of wind chimes – from whence the guest house gets its name. Just past the gardens you will discover the Tiki Boat Bar where tropical frozen drinks and gourmet sandwiches are served for a discerning pallet.

Days may be spent lounging around our pool with its built-in jacuzzi bench and effervescent water-wall, or head down to famous Condado beach – just a block away – the finest stretch of sand in San Juan. The historic quarter of Old San Juan with it’s colonial facades and narrow, meandering streets is just a short drive away, while the metropolitan areas of Isla Verde and Condado provide all the temptations of city life.

Alternatively, our friendly and knowledgeable staff will be more than happy to help you plan a trip to one of Puerto Rico’s many attractions: hike one of the many trails in the El Yunque rain forest or explore the cavernous depths of River Camuy National Park – the third largest network of caves in the world. Swim under the stars in the bioluminescent waters of La Parguera or take advantage of one of the great diving and snorkelling spots around the Island's coast.

When day turns to night there’s an abundance of fine dining from traditional and contemporary Puerto Rican cuisine to fine French bistros and sushi fresh from the Atlantic Ocean. Bars and night-clubs reverberate energetically with the sound of salsa and the bright lights of the Condado casinos blink the whole night through.

Whatever type of holiday or business trip you have planned, at Wind Chimes Inn we’ll be delighted to help make your experience of our enchanting island an unforgettable one.
