Coconut Palms Inn is a small, beachfront, guest home consisting of two buildings each with three units. It is situated in a residential area where the beach is practically deserted all year round. The inn is surrounded by a beautiful, tropical garden fronting on the Caribbean.

The beach and inn face directly to the west, giving us spectacular sunsets every evening. The tropical garden features many flowering plants including 48 varieties of orchids. There are also two aviaries for love birds and cockatiels, a fish pond with a fountain, an eight person jacuzzi spa, a hammock slung between two coconut palms, a canopied beach veranda with sunbathing and dining areas, and a canopied bar and grilling area.

We are on the Caribbean side of the westernmost point of Puerto Rico. The beach is great for swimming and snorkeling. Guests enjoy the resident giant queen fish, flying fish, iguanas, geckos, coqui, pelicans, blue herons, cow birds, parrot fish, humpback and pilot whales, bottle nose and spinner dolphins, manatee, and frigate birds that grace us with their presence.

Great surfing is only ten minutes away on the Atlantic Ocean side of the same point. In 1968, the world surfing championship was decided in the surf at Rincon. Many of Rincon's 1,100 permanent North American population are surfers and ex-surfers.

A lot of the surfers hang out at the Calypso Cafe overlooking Maria's beach. A silent call goes out if the surf is more than four feet high and curling. Within one and a half hours, more than fifty surfers awaken from their non-surfing stupor and are in the water with their pre-waxed boards.

The inn makes available to guests its beach toys, snorkeling gear, and float tubes for swimming. Guests may also use the chaise lounge chairs and deck furniture for sunbathing on the veranda or on the beach. Two dive shops offering charters and instruction for scuba diving and snorkeling are less than five minutes away.

Other nearby attractions include:
- Bioluminescent bay boat trips and dining in La Parguero
- World class diving and snorkeling excursions to Desecheo and Mona Islands
- A massive cave park with guided tours, spelunking, and rappelling in Camuy Caverns
- Internationally renowned surfing tournaments at Maria's and Pool's beaches
- An arid desert park with many species of cacti and other arid area fauna and flora
- Arecibo observatory with its space museum and the world's largest antenna with sounds from space
- Fishing in the Mona Passage - dubbed by Sportfishing magazine as "marlin alley"
- Golfing on any of several nearby courses
- The western end of the island's extensive rain forest and mountain ranges
- Blow holes and rock formations at several beaches
- Horseback riding along the beach in the surf line
- Hobie cat sailboat rentals and a 45', 'midship cockpit, sailing sloop for charter
- Ocean kayaking and float trips
- Taino Indian ceremonial burial grounds
- Overnight or weekend excursions to Mona island sitting in the middle of the Mona passage
- Faro lighthouse park with an artifacts museum and gift shop
- Relaxing at the hot springs in Coamo

Studios are furnished with queen sized beds, private bathrooms, refrigerators, microwave ovens, coffee brewers, cups and glasses, eating utensils, all bed and bath linens, overhead ceiling fans, air conditioning, and color televisions equipped with cable. Our apartments are furnished similarly, but also include private bedrooms; a fully equipped kitchen with oven and range, double stainless steel sinks, blender, pots and pans; and a complete dining service for four or more guests. There are many great restaurants in Rincon and the surrounding area for your dining pleasure.

Our favorite restaurants are all on the beachfront, where you can listen to the surf; or on a mountaintop, where you can enjoy the stunning vistas. There are two grocery stores within a five minute drive.

We can arrange a Hertz rental car for you at a discount below normal rates here on the island. There are a couple of nightclubs offering entertainment, food, and beverages. Our friend is opening a new casino only four blocks down the beach.

All in all, it’s hard to beat anywhere else in the Caribbean. It offers a very slow paced, laid back atmosphere, guaranteed to minimize stress related ailments caused by big city living. Come join us in our little corner of paradise!
