Train Lodge – Book your bed
Train Lodge is a five-star budget lodge for up to 208 people, consisting of 10 vintage railway coaches. It is situated next to Cape Town station, and has easy access to the city centre, the waterfront, as well as a great view of Table Mountain! It has a swimming pool, restaurant and bar, braai/barbeque area, self-catering kitchen, television lounges, pool tables, a travel office and internet café.
Accommodation is in 2- and 4-berth compartments, and modern bathrooms are adjacent to the coaches. Facilities are spotless and serviced daily. Our pride and joy is our X-pres Café & Bar – a full restaurant in two coaches and on the platform, consisting of dining car, bar car and central coffee shop. The X-pres is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and is a popular spot for sundowner drinks and just hanging out!. Nothing beats Casper’s yummie meals..!
The Train Lodge allows you to experience a train station in a relaxed and warm environment. The coaches, originally from Rhodesian Railways, have now been fully revamped to ensure a comfortable stay in a safe environment.
